Black Man:
Adventure, Love, and a Pandemic
Yuri, a young boy without a father, is mentored by local street legend Big Hurt, who grooms him into manhood. Ten years later, in the summer of 2020, racial tensions, political strife, and police brutality put Yuri’s manhood to the ultimate test.
"Black Man" is a coming of age story that relates only to a few, but touches many. It is the story of manhood, where there are very few men to deliver the knowledge. It is, indeed, the story of the American Black man.
We're currently in the scriptwriting and fundraising phase of this project; but the story is intended to delve into the dynamics of individualism challenged by stereotypes that are forced upon African-Americans, specifically black men.
We engage on this journey through the eyes of a young adolescent, Yuri, who is lucky enough to be groomed by a real man on manhood.
